Triggers typically include abrupt withdrawal of systemic treatment, severe sunburn, allergic drug-induced rash, infection, emotional stress, or alcoholism (NPF, 2018). It is important for health care providers to be made aware of psoriasis and the potential complications, so that they have the knowledge to provide holistic patient care to improve patient outcomes.
