It is then directed to turbines orb generator units.Flash steam use geothermal reservoirs which have temperatures of more than 360F. Thehot water flows from underground on its own. This water is very hot but as it flows up throughthe well, it cools due to the decreased pressure then some of the hot water boils into steam. Thissteam is eventually separate from the water, then used to power turbines and generators. Theremaining water is condensed, injected back into the reservoir and this shows just how easy iteasy to preserve this form of energy. This will be used in form of steam and therefore among allsources of renewable sources of energy, this tops them all. There is reduced wastage of energy, asno water is allowed to flow away. Like the other sources of renewable energy, it is alsorechargeable, it can be recreated over and over again. This form of energy is, however, associatedwith .some negative outcomes. There is environmental pollution that may result from theextreme heat which may harm the vegetation. The wild animals in the surrounding environmentmay be forced to move to other places due to these extreme temperatures.Binary steam is the other form of geothermal power. Binary water plants are used withwaters of lower temperatures which may range from 225-360F.binary steams, as opposed to theflash steams, use the steam from the boiling water to melt a working fluid. In most cases, thisworking fluid is an organic compound. This organic compound must have a low boiling pointbecause as already noted, the temperatures here are not as high. This fluid is then vaporized thenlater used to turn a turbine or even a generator. Like in the flash steam, this water is injected backinto the reservoir and it is then reheated. Both the working fluid, which is organic in nature, andthe water are never mixed to ensure that air emission is prevented or kept to a minimumthroughout the whole process. The binary cycle can adopt the use of two types of two geothermalresources to generate electricity (Ellabban, et al, 2016). These two include the following: lowtemperature/co-produced resources and enhanced geothermal systems. The enhanced geothermalsystems generally provide power by using the Earth’s deep geothermal resources. Thetemperatures here are unbearable and basically, there is no better way to use such resources.These resources are not economical to the society because of maybe lack of water, location, orrock type. The low temperatures or the co-produced resources are found at temperatures of about300F or even less. The temperatures here are not as high as in the enhanced geothermalresources. The resources can, therefore, be used to generate electricity by employing the binarycycle technology.
