be for people to go in and the other end would be for carrying out people. To fit the most people anyone had to have their hands up and kids on top. The size was approximately 18 by 20. Once the 6 to 7 minute gassing was done, the other door was open and the corpses were taken out to be thrown into big ditches. Some of the corpses were still alive. Personal Reaction To What You’ve Learned I find this absolutely horrific to read, watch, and hear about. The Holocaust and all of the 17 million people who were killed by the Nazis will never be forgotten. I am absolutely disgusted that people who are still believing in the Nazi ideologies. I know I can’t, but I am also quite sure that majority of the can’t even fathom what it was like to live under constant threat of being killed for being so desensitized to the constant killings that you are okay with throwing babies into fires. There was something really wrong with humanity for just standing by and not doing anything for a very long time. Today we freak out when one person dies and surely a large majority of us have felt the heartbreak that comes with losing a person but when we are given numbers like 17 million people, we can’t even grasp our minds around it. The other very sad part of this is that all of the survivors of the holocaust are very old now and a lot of them have passed already. Remembering the past keeps us from repeating it, but what happens if we start forgetting?

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
