16 APPENDIX A CHANGES TO PAGE REFERENCES IN THE STUDY GUIDE The study guide you were issued with after registration is based on the 8 th edition of the prescribed book. Unisa study guides are reviewed in a three-year cycle and the study guide for this module will be reviewed in 2008 for use in 2009. In this section, we indicate where there are differences in page references between the 8 th and 9 th editions of the prescribed book. If you are using a copy of the 8 th edition of the prescribed book, you can ignore this section of the tutorial letter. However, if you are using the 9 th edition of the prescribed book, it is very important for you to note the changes as pointed out in this tutorial letter. You can use either the 8 th or 9 th edition of the prescribed book to prepare for the examination. Activity 1.1 Study the definition of compensation (pp 2-8) and the different forms of compensation (pp 8- 14) in the prescribed book.
