About The Hospital of Central Connecticut The Hospital of Central Connecticut (HOCC) is a 414-bed, 32-bassinet acute care teaching hospital with two campuses, New Britain General and Bradley Memorial in Southington. Natividad Trauma Center (NTC) is a 172-bed acute care facility, located in Salinas, California, and serves as the only Level II Trauma Center in the Monterey County and Central Coast of California region. Serving the community for 132-years, NTC currently staffs 355 medical personnel, 1,376 employees of many specialties, and 420 volunteers. NTC is a teaching hospital, providing a Family Medicine Residency in affiliation with the University of California San Francisco, provides preceptorships and clinical placements sites for nurses, nurse practitioners, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and medical students from all over the country. According to a study by NTC, during the fiscal year of July 2017-to-June 2018, NTC served 10,925 admissions, 2,205 births, 52,597 emergency visits, 132,475 outpatient visits, and 4,258 surgeries (Natividad, n.d.) Services at NTC include: Level II Trauma, ICU, Stepdown/Intermediate Care, Emergency Services, Mother-Baby, Level III NICU, Pediatrics, Medical-Surgical, Mental Health, Acute Rehabilitation, and Surgical services. Clinical Support Services at NTC include: Cardiopulmonary, Case Management, CHOICE Trauma Prevention & Outreach, Diabetes education Center, Diagnostic Imaging, Interventional Radiology, Laboratory, Language Access, Outpatient therapies (physical, occupational, speech), Palliative Care, Pharmacy services, Social services, and Spiritual care. NTC also proudly serves the community with a plethora of outpatient services and clinics such as: audiology, bariatric weight loss services, cardiology, colon rectal surgery, dermatology, gastroenterology, general surgery, hem/oncology, nephrology, neurology, neurosurgery, OB/GYN, orthopedics, etc. NTC has received multiple distinctions such as: certification as a level II trauma center, blue distinction center for maternity care by the Blue Cross Blue Shield, blue distinction center for bariatric surgery-gastric staling and gastric bonding by Blue Cross Blue Shield, designation as a baby-friendly birth facility by Baby-Friendly USA, and nationally ranks in the top
10% of 870 inpatient rehab facilities that qualified to be ranked in the Uniform Data System (UDS) for Medical Rehabilitation in 2017.
