• “The practice group has been amazing, but the firm could improve lateral integration.” OUR SURVEY SAYS Vault’s Verdict: With all the founding partners still practicing at the firm, the culture is rooted in loyalty and mutual respect. Lawyers at Kasowitz rave about the collegial environment, and laid-back social atmosphere, but associates outside New York would appreciate being level with the home office on everything from transparency to bonuses. Associates are split on whether the firm’s high- profile representation of President Trump is a good or a bad thing for the firm. Satisfaction • “My firm does an excellent job finding a lot of interesting work for me. Uniquely, I am afforded a lot of opportunities that many of my peers at other firms do not enjoy, such as drafting motions and being involved in trial preparation sessions. If you put yourself out there, and seek out work, you’ll be rewarded with a wide array of experiences. I have done that, and as a first year, I have been working on many substantial matters, which I find very beneficial to my career development.” • “As an associate in an outlying office, I don’t feel that we get the recognition or consideration (for promotion) that associates in the NYC office enjoy. I am fully satisfied with the people I work with, the types of cases I handle and work on and with the firm’s culture.” • “Very happy with the quality and substance of the work.” • “I enjoy the people and the substantive work. However, I’m overwhelmed and stressed at times.” Firm Culture • “Associates are friendly with one another, and we try to get together outside work every few weeks or so. The firm has a lot of different activities they put on, but the associates collectively need to make a better effort to make time for these events.” • “Everyone is super friendly, and eager to help each other out. No real face-time requirements makes it easy to leave early, have dinner at home and then log back in and finish your work. Almost no one is in the office past 7 normally.” • “Everybody is uniformly nice and polite. I like everyone with whom I work, and it is an extremely collegial culture. There is not a ton of socializing but people are great.”

Politically there is major misalignment with many on top (Kaz is Trump’s bestie, for instance. I don’t think many associates feel great about this). Professionally, we really are in sync, however.” Associate/Partner Relations • “I have excellent relations with partners. In many ways I feel like I am their peer. I think this is pretty common amongst associates. There is very little transparency in the firm, sometimes even within Marc’s inner circle. Everyone knows this though and has been this way since the firm’s founding in 1993.” • “As a junior associate, I feel partners have an interest in associates developing good lawyer skills.”

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
