inventory, manufacturing and customer service activities, Basically ERP systems provide companies with software, pre-designed database, procedures, and job descriptions for organizations-wide process incorporation. By taking the organizations-wide view, many organizations find they can reduce their inventory, sometimes dramatically. For example it is reasonable to ask what the competitive advantage of ERP systems are if all competitors use the same industry standard processes while systems erodes as more and more competitors implement the ERP products. This statement in the chapter seven (pg 216) suggests that all companies within an industry that install ERP will receive the same benefits. However we learned in chapter there that that this is not the case software and hardware do not necessarily provide a sustained advantage but rather it is the combination of people, procedures, hardware, software and data that creates a sustainable advantage. Reference Michael Scott owns a chain of fast food restaurants. ERP system is really helpful to Michael because he can us the ERP system to figure out sale figures and also cost of inventory and helps him reduce inventory. He can also figure out if the stores are making profit or losing money. It helps with improving customer service. It also makes it easier for picking employees based on qualifications through a filter system. Also helps him have a higher profitability rate. He also has a loyalty program for loyal customers and it helped with keeping information on customers choice to eat and so forth helping him determine what is more popular and what is not. Helps keep customers happy, and keep them coming back for more. Summary In doing this case study, I have learned that, although my major may not be as an IT specialist, it is very important to know how the systems in your organization work. No matter what position

you enroll in within an organization, you are contributing to the organizational and business process in one way or another. I also learned using balance sheets, expense reports, income statement, financial ratios and many more that accounting and finance play a major role in determining where an organization stands financially compared to its competitors. Seeing as my career in finance, business processes rely heavily on the information that I will be providing for them. If this information is inaccurate, the organization may be wrong when determining what the best step to take is, especially when it comes to determining operating budget, money management budgeting and so on.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
