America’s taxation was financing the King’s expenses in Britain while the American colonist had no say in the Parliament's actions. Without the people there wouldn't be a country and the King must listen and respect the citizens. As it was seen, when taxation and other actions were

taken out of hand the people revolted and made the change they wished to see. Limiting monarchies power and placing it in the people’s hands The Kings were abusing their power and were above the law. King James II and King George III manipulated the judicial system by appointing delegates, accusing people of being guilty before proven so, and many more. King James II placed cruel punishments, King George III kept armies during a time of peace, and King Louis XVI had no idea what he was doing and wasn’t suited for the position at all. The government must act in the better good of the people that it is serving because in the end, the people hold the power. When the people are not pleased with the government they have the power to revolt and change it’s way. Unalienable rights Citizens had no say in what is going on, how they are being treated, and what laws they must abide. The Kings were exploiting with cruel punishment, unfair religious treatment, manipulation of the judicial court, misuse of milisia, and lack of representation. The people were fighting for unalienable rights of every man, although in some these rights don't apply to all races and never applied to woman. All men are created equal and have rights that cannot be taken away unless they break the law. This creates an equalizer playing field and got rid of the estates in France. People are going to be better citizens and respect their government more when it acts in the better good of the people and gives people the power. Checks and Balances Different branches of government had power to regulate each other. This is seen in the American Revolution. Each branch of government still keeps the others in check. This can be seen when Judicial branch declares whether an action is constitutional or when the Legislative branch has the power to impeach or remove the President from office. Power to petition the government The people gained power to stand up for what they believe and question or abolish the government. This is seen in the American Revolution. People are involved in the government and have a constant say in what laws are passed and who is in power Power of the people to vote Giving the people the power to vote makes it so that everyone has a say in the decisions made by the government. This prevents tyrannical rule. This is seen in the French Revolution. The people of France to this date still enjoy the power to vote in their elections. There is a
