16. Explain production and effect of oxytocin. Milk is formed and is ejected by oxytocin. Stretch receptors in the breast send nerve impulses to the hypothalamus, the impulses stimulate the production of oxytocin and oxytocin circulates around the alveoli which contract and force milk out.
