Such factors are environmental, mental and societal. This is especially true for those who are of a lower socioeconomic status. When one’s environment has easier access to unhealthy foods and harder access to fruits ultimately. This can increase the rates of obesity. In addition, urban and rural communities have a lack of nutritionists and dieticians to provide them with assistance in healthy eating and weight gain. This especially true for urban-dwellers where there is a lack of gyms, parks and other places to safely participate in physical activities. Also the discrimination

Emerson, Jones, McArthur, Robards, Siddiqui, 11 Reflection Letter In the beginning of the writing process, we were already aware of the challenges we would face as we wrote this essay. Although this was a large group of people working on a relatively small paper, we were five people with different styles of writing, different thought processes and different ways of processing the same idea. Transitions, creating a thesis, and ultimately getting on the same page had to be dealt with ample amount of communication between the five of us. We received that chance when we had our group conference with Professor Epstein. We discovered that we all had a part in making this research paper as developed and thorough as possible. With our topic being medicine (more specifically) obesity, we used all of our individual ways of thinking to create a paper more multifaceted paper. We also ended up realizing were the focus of our paper should lie after having conferences and took what we had already written, and made it more focused and explained how specifically it related to the topic of socioeconomic class. The problem we were having was that we had so much information to fit under one umbrella, that making sure each piece wrapped around to the final idea was a very time-consuming and rather strenuous task because it just took so much focus while writing. Another challenge we endured was trying to add personal ideas between others’ writings, and was successfully overcome by working together and molding our ideas to connect to one central thesis.
