Microsoft Dynamics NAV sells its products and services in a concurrent user licensingmodel, and companies can choose the type of licensing that best fits their scale, scope ofoperations, and resources.Microsoft launched the "Business Ready License" (BRL) model in 2006. The customerpurchases user sessions that provide access to specific areas of the system. There are two usertypes: Business Essentials (BE) and Advanced Management (AM); AM has more featuresthan BE. Users were not provided with features under the previous licensing model, "ModuleBased License" (MBL); this had to be purchased separately. Microsoft provides customerswith a way to migrate from MBL to BRL licensing.
