NEED FOR THE STUDY.
Mutual funds are financial intermediaries concerned with mobilizing the savings of those who have surplus
income and utilisation of those savings in those avenues where there is demand for funds.
The main objective behind this market survey on mutual funds is to see the response of mutual fund
distributors about mutual fund and comparative study will be done to analyse the performance of various
mutual funds and rank them accordingly based on the returns and risk involved in it and suggest the best
fund for investors combined with benefits of low risk steady or consistent returns , high liquidity and
capital appreciation through diversification and expert management.
OBJECTIVES OF STUDY

To study the nature and role of mutual funds in india

To investigate performance of different mutual fund schemes based on their returns and
comparing them with other mutual funds schemes.

To make comparative analysis on performance of various mutual fund schemes, in specific
Reliance funds and to rank them accordingly based on these results

To perform a market survey in order to extract distributors feedback and perception on
mutual funds of various companies
o
To find suggest and conclude the facts of various Mutual fund performances with Reliance
Mutual funds in specific

SCOPE
The scope of the comparative study is combined to debt-medium term schemes followed by a market
survey of the distribution houses for this purpose a questionnaire will be designed to take their feedback on
mutual funds.
For the purpose of the comparative study various open ended schemes of Reliance , Tata, HDFC are
considered.
LIMITATIONS

The comparative study will be conducted in few mutual funds
o
The project will be completed within a short period.
o
Due to corporate trade secrecy the information in not so exclusive.

SAMPLING
Distributors for survey will be selected based on their willingness to cooperate in survey.
RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
Research design or research methodology is the procedure of collecting, analyzing and interpreting the data
to diagnose the problem and react to the opportunity in such a way where the costs can be minimized and
the desired level of accuracy can be achieved to arrive at a particular conclusion. The methodology used in
the study for the completion of the project and the fulfillment of the project objectives, is as follows:
DATA COLLECTION
In order to study the objectives mentioned, necessary primary and secondary data were collected.
PRIMARY DATA
Data is collected from the personnel discussions with employees of the company.
SECONDARY DATA
It is also collected from the books, journals, magazines, past records and all other types of published data
and fact sheet, offer documents.
