The antigen is part of the virus that activates the immune system. Another test would be the Nucleic acid test (NAT). This test is expnsive and it looks for the viruse itself. It takes approximately 15-21 days for HIV to be detected in blood. Treatment: There is currently no cure for HIV or AIDS. Treatments can stop live a long and healthy life. If a person believe they have been exposed to the HIV virus, they have 72hours to report it. There is a pill that is taken daily, pepil (post-exposure prophylaxis is an anti-HIV medication).

Prevention: There are ways for prevention of HIV/AIDS disease such as: Using a condom every time you have sex, limit your sex partner, don’t share needles with anyone.
