afford not to go to work. Do I really need to have friends or my time? But I needed this. I would find a way to work through being completely overwhelmed. The struggles would only be for a short time. So I did it. I started looking at online classes. Next thing I knew, I was signed up for classes and it was really happening. The classes began and the gratification was amazing. My family was very supportive and encouraging, Not only do they give me the quiet time I needed to complete assignments, but they give words of encouragement. The first semester passed and it was all A’s. I actually made the Dean’s list. Me. I had been a C average student my whole life. The feeling was unreal. My daughter made a big deal when that certificate came in the mail. She made me feel like I was a superstar. It didn’t stop there. A year and a half later, still straight As, I graduated from my first program. A college diploma. Even after the age of 40, I was a successful college student. The gratification is here. I can do this. After struggling to balance my life, I realized it is never too late to make your dreams come true. Going back to school after 40 is not impossible. There will be a million struggles and obstacles to overcome. There will be tears shed and days that you just want to quit, but I know firsthand that these are just speed bumps, not roadblocks. It’s never too late to late to move forward. Once you do, and you see that there is a light at the end of the tunnel, you know it is all worth it. You may miss out on a little, but the gratification is much more then you could ever imagine.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
