2.2.1. Tableau Desktop
Tableau Desktop has a rich feature set and allows you to code and
customize reports. Right from creating the charts, reports, to blending
them all together to form a dashboard, all the necessary work is created
in Tableau Desktop.
For live data analysis, Tableau Desktop provides connectivity to database, data warehouse,
open API, as well as other various types of files. The connection method was continuously
updated based on the trend and technologies. The workbooks and the dashboards created
here can be either shared locally or publicly via Tableau Server, Online or Tableau Public.
Despite the existing tableau has limited type of charts and capability (based on the default
installation), user may develop and presented data in any shape and presentation interface
using tableau desktop depending on creativity and capability of the user.

2.2.2. Tableau Public
It is alternative Tableau desktop version specially
build for the cost-effective users. By the word
"Public," it means that the workbooks created
cannot be saved locally, in turn, it will and can only be saved to the Tableau's public cloud
( ) which can be viewed and accessed by anyone.
However, user can manage the access by limiting the workbook viewability and searchability
to the public, whereby, only user with link can view the workbook. This version is the best for
the individuals who want to learn Tableau and for the ones who want to share their data with
the general public.
All features and capability of Tableau Desktop is also available in Tableau public except:
i. Connection to data sources are limited to static data such as file based (excel, csv,
json, pdf, etc.) and cloud-based API.
ii. It can only save to Tableau Public cloud and as Workbook
iii. You can only edit and retrieve your workbook if it is connected to tableau public.
It is advisable to use Tableau public when the data secrecy is not a concern to the owner.
Despite limited features compared to Tableau Desktop, the UI/UX of Tableau public is not
limited to it. There are many example which the design of the desktop developed using
