diameter of the wire. Once all of these values were measured, 7kg were added to the weight pan, 1 kg at a time. After we added each weight the micrometer screw was adjusted so it could become level and then we could record the resulting data values ( L 2 ) in the table. We then recorded the stress and strain for each row. For table II, we repeated the same process except we were taking away 1kg at a time from the initial 7kg instead of adding it up like in the first part. After recording all the data values, a Stress vs. Strain Graph was plotted for each table and we developed a slope which is the (Young’s Modulus).
