it is recommended that the patient is taken through some tests such as echocardiogram, chest x- ray, and electrocardiogram (McConnell & Branigan, 2008). The results of the tests should be conveyed to the patient together with his parent; this is important because they will be given more information on this particular disease. It is suspected that the child suffers from Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) a disorder that is mostly inherited and can cause sudden death. The disorder does not show any signs or symptoms in most patients. Research shows that most murmurs disappear upon attaining adulthood, becoming louder does not mean that the murmur is dangerous (McConnell & Branigan, 2008). Though the family members including the parent alleged to have no such a condition, prolonged QT-syndrome is inherited, it is in the genes.HCM can occur in half of the relatives though none can have the symptoms(McConnell & Branigan,2008).Genetic testing and stress testing should be used in the diagnosis of this condition.
