Chapter 9 gives the question "Why do those who trust in God suffer?" From my understanding ofthis chapter and the review I completed, it is because of the fall and suffering is part of the result of having free will. The fall of humanity by Eve and Adam gave way to humanity having the ability to sin. Having free will, will ultimately lead to suffering because not every choice you make will always end up going without harm to others. There would still be sickness, disease anddeath. It is impossible to avoid evil and suffering throughout humanity because everyone has choices to make for themselves. Unfortunately, not all those choices will end without harm to themselves or others. Considering there are so many of us in the world today, I can see why we tend to see more and more evil people every day. Sometimes that’s all we see because that is what is focused on nowadays. •Briefly summarize the Christian worldview’s response to the problem of evil and suffering. Cite and reference the lecture and/or Chapter 9 in the textbook.The Christian worldview's response is that God is all knowing and all powerful and he has reasoning behind all that happens in the world. He gave them free will and that is a big reason that suffering exists. They have the right to choose what they do and if there was no suffering that would mean that God has taken away their free will. The world having evil and suffering
