that same online user account, to a different Windows system somewhere else, then all my preferences are automatically synchronized to that system. So my user environment on that other system looks exactly like the user environment on this system.Using an online user account also provides you with access to OneDrive Cloud Storage. Now I'm currently logged in to this system using a local user account MFinn. Link Online Accounts 1:10-3:51 I've already gone in to the Windows Live website and created a new online user account that I want to associate with the MFinn local user account. To do this I need to come over here to the search icon and access PC settings. I need to go to accounts and we see here that MFinn is a local user account. I want to use this option right here to connect the MFinn local account to the online Microsoft accountthat I just created. I'll click this option, and I do need to authenticate as my local MFinn user first. And now I need to enter in the email address I set up for the online account along with that online accounts' password. The name of the online account that I created is MaryLRFinn and the domain is outlook.com and then I have to enter in the password that I created for that account, which may or may not be the same as the local user accounts' password. It doesn't have to be the same, I'll click next. Now, in order to keep someone from hijacking your account, you have to get a security code from Microsoft that allows youto link the two accounts together. Now, when I set up the [email protected] online account, I provided an alternate email address where security codes could be sent. So I enter in that alternate email address and click next and now Microsoft will send that code to that email address. I need to go get it, copy it, and paste it in here. So we'll pause for a second while I do that. OK, so I've checked my email and I now have my security code that I'm going to use. I'll come down and click next, and I'm educated about OneDrive Cloud Storage. Now, because we are logging in with an online user account we are automatically granted an OneDrive Cloud Storage account. This OneDrive account is very important because as it notes here, local user account information is automatically backed up to the OneDrive Cloud Storage. Including your pictures, your documents, any configuration settings you've configured, will all be synchronized up to your OneDrive account. That way if you log in with the same online user account on a different Windows system, all that information will be pulled down and your user environment recreated on that different system. So let's go ahead and click Next and we're prompted to confirm whether we want to switch from the local MFinn user account to the Mary Finn online user account. Let's go ahead and do that by clicking 'Switch.' Alright at this point I'm now authenticated to my local system as the [email protected] user account instead of the MFinn local user account.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
