adolescents' stage of development. H=home, relationships. E=education and employment, attendance, performance, and future plans. E=eating weight, diet, exercise. A=activities, sports involvement, outside school activities. D- drugs & alcohol, cigarette, alcohol or illicit and/or prescription drugs. S=sexuality, relationships, sexual experience, and STDs. S=suicide, depression & self-harm, feelings of frequent, long periods of sadness, thoughts of self-harm. S=safety & violence, high-risk behaviors (RCHM, n. d.). The HEEADSSS is especially effective in adolescents as this is the period where peer groups and the desire to be liked are the strongest, where they experiment with risky behavior and are at odds with their parents (Ball, et al, 2019). This tool would be utilized using open-ended question and assure confidentiality. Some question that would be asked includes: 1. What do you do for fun? 2. What's your relationship with your friends?
3. What's your most memorable time? 4. How is your interaction with others? 5. What's your future goals? 6. What the unusual behavior that's of concern to your parents?
