Workflow Action, Action: Send Email to Employee. Remove and generate database triggers, then start a workflow monitor server task for the workflow group named Test. Items to consider include: If a new account is added that meets these requirements, then the workflow policy is called. If an existing account is updated in such a way that these requirements are met, then the workflow policy is called. NOTE: If an account existed in the database before the workflow policy was defined, and if the account meets the workflow policy requirements, then the workflow policy does not start the workflow process. If database triggers were generated for this workflow policy, then the Workflow Monitor Agent evaluates a record only if it is updated, or if a new record is created. Therefore, old records are not affected. To evaluate an account record that is created prior to the creation of the workflow policy, make sure the Batch Mode flag is checked for the workflow policy, and that the Workflow Monitor Agent is run with Batch Mode set to TRUE. Administering a Workflow Policy Administering a Workflow Policy Siebel Business Process Framework: Workflow Guide Version 8.1, Rev A 431 Moving a Workflow Policy to a Different Group To respond to changes in the business environment or to you configuration, you might find it necessary to change the workflow group for a workflow policy. Before you can move a workflow policy from one group to another group, requests that are associated with that workflow policy must finished. If a group for a workflow policy is changed while an associated request is pending, then Workflow Monitor Agent fails with the error Rule Not Found. If this situation occurs, then restore the workflow policy to the original group for the policy, wait for the request to finish, then proceed with the change. If an existing workflow policy is moved from one workflow group to another workflow group, then the database triggers must be updated. The database triggers contain the RULE_ID and GROUP_ID for the workflow policy. Therefore, if the database triggers were not generated again, then rows exist in the S_ESCL_REQ table that reference the original RULE_ID and GROUP_ID. To move a workflow policy to a different group 1 Run a Generate Triggers server task to drop database triggers, thus making sure no more rows are inserted for workflow policies in the group you must change. Use the following parameters: EXEC=TRUE Remove=TRUE Because database triggers are being disabled, you must avoid firing additional database triggers through a workflow policy. Therefore, consider making these changes when either no users or only a minimal number of users are accessing the system. For more information, see “Generating Database Triggers” on page 404 .
