IS DELETED. If a row is deleted from this workflow policy component, then call this workflow policy to be examined. The following comparisons operate at the field level: IS UPDATED. If the value for a field that is changed by adding a new record with the specific field, or by modifying the field in an existing record, then call this policy to be examined. To monitor if a field for a particular table is updated, use the workflow policy component column that represents the LAST_UPD column for that table. To monitor if a field within the workflow policy component is modified, use the field that is named after the workflow policy component.

Defining a Custom Workflow Policy Conditions for a Workflow Policy Siebel Business Process Framework: Workflow Guide Version 8.1, Rev A 373 Table 52 describes specialized comparisons for a database platform that can be used in defining a workflow policy condition. An OR is implied between specialized comparisons, where one or more of the workflow policy conditions must be met before the action occurs. For example, a service representative can receive an email when an activity is added to an open service request. Conditions in the policy that you then create include: Service Request Status = 'Open' Service Request Activity Component IS ADDED If a workflow policy condition is IS ADDED or IS UPDATED, then the database triggers that are generated do not represent every condition defined in the policy. The database triggers that are not represented are ignored. This situation can be viewed by examining the trigger.sql file that is produced as a result of the comparison. This behavior is expected. If the condition is modified, then Generate Triggers must be run in order to implement the updated conditions. Table 52. Specialized Comparisons Comparison Value Explanation IS ADDED Use IS ADDED with a workflow policy component column that is defined in the Condition field and when nothing is defined in the Condition value. The workflow policy condition is met when an instance of the workflow policy component is added. For example, if the policy component column for the service request is defined in the Condition field, and if IS ADDED is defined in the comparison, then the condition is met when you create a new service request. IS UPDATED Use IS UPDATED with a field that is defined in the Condition field, and when nothing is defined in the Condition value. The condition is met when the field changes. For example, if the status of a service request is defined in the Condition field, and if IS UPDATED is defined in the comparison, then the workflow policy condition is met when the status for the service request changes. For more information, see “IS UPDATED in the Conditions List” on page 374 .
