and patient involvement, satisfaction, and empowerment (Williams et al., 2016). Conclusion McCormack and McCance PCN theory is a common theoretical framework used to guide nursing practice today. The use of the PCN framework in practice has shown to be beneficial in many areas of the nursing profession including, practice, education, evaluation and policy development and has been a key contributor in helping bridge the gap between nursing knowledge and practice (McCormack et al., 2015). This assignment has helped me gain a better understanding of the PCN framework and its many benefits in the nursing profession. I also learned how to use the framework working from outside the circle towards the inside. This assignment has given me a new perspective on theories and provided me insight that will help operationalize these theories into my future FNP practice. Theory guided practice equips me with a PCC approach that I can apply to various patients and situations thus, making me a more competent practitioner and improves patient quality, satisfaction, and outcomes.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
