EEO targets and employee satisfaction surveys. They will then need to analyse it, and compare the data against any workplace objectives. They should identify any diversity plans in place and draw links between diversity practice and organisational goals/values. The learner should then evaluate how well the organisation is meeting any diversity targets or plans in place.2.The learner should show the ability to embed diversity practices in a workplace. This can be done in a variety of ways. One is coaching, in which they assist employees (either in groups or individually) to accept diversity and work more efficiently alongside it. They should impart knowledge and demonstrate how to make the workplace more inclusive. Communication should always be tailored to the needs diverse clients; this may mean modifying the media, language, format or content of it. For example, people with English as a second language may prefer verbal demonstrations rather than lengthy emails. The learner will also need to develop inclusive workplace practices and planning. This may include preventing discrimination, making reasonable exceptions to meet the needs of a diverse workforce, showing understanding and flexibility towards those with personal commitments and addressing workplace harassment/discrimination.3.The learner should demonstrate the ability to implement inclusive workplace policies. The first step is to research the workplace’s needs and develop policies through consultation with stakeholders; these could be any people who the policy will affect, such as a group of employees. Diversity issues the learner may look at include equal opportunity issues (e.g. discrimination, pay gaps, under-representation and culturally inappropriate workplaces), communication issues and different values. They will need to work out ways to improve policies in these areas and advocate for them with the relevant members of the organisation. The learner should devise ways of measuring the policy’s impact and if necessary, they should make reports on them. This should include information on whether the policy was a success or failure and suggestions for improving them.
