an effective strategic plan they can overcome any obstacles and make sure they do not run into the same problems again. ( Strategy & Leadership, 2010, Vol. 38, Iss 6; p. 29) Phipps, K., and M. Burbach. "Strategic Leadership in the Nonprofit Sector: Opportunities for Research." Journal of Behavioral and Applied Management 11, no. 2 (January 1, 2010): 137-154. (accessed March 3, 2011). Strategic leadership has a very wide field. Much research has been done about the effects it has in profit oriented businesses. But what about businesses that are non-profit? Could they use this type of leadership to run their organization? The answer to this question is yes. Some things may differ between the two types of businesses but the same principles can be applied to profit oriented businesses that can be applied to non-profit businesses. The principles that can be applied to non-profit organizations include “ learning capacity, capacity for change, managerial wisdom, organizational context, organizational innovation, and mission trajectory.” ( Journal of Behavioral and Applied Management, Jan 2010, Vol. 11, Iss. 2; p. 137, 18 pgs) Robinson, A. "Strategic Leadership for a Change: Facing Our Losses, Finding Our Future." Review of. Interpretation 64, no. 3 (July 1, 2010): 331. (accessed March 2, 2011). When you think of strategic leadership you think of it being applied in the business realm. In this source it talks about how pastors at churches feel that they aren’t as in tuned with their followers and that they feel they are losing their leadership over their congregation.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
