one knows of. This woman shows how much of a fan she is of Lovingood, yet when she has the opportunity she still does not reveal her name. She states in the end, “He doesn’t even know my name! It struck her as funny; she laughed” (page 21). The contradicting quote of the solitary woman comes from the part where she finds Lovingood in the parking lot. She offers, “A shower, a clean bed. Clean sheets cool and sweet and line dried in the sun. Quiet and peace. No traffic, no motion, no music, not even your own, just stillness, silence, and sleep” (page 10). Her tone of voice through this quote is described as a “low, lulling voice, one pleasure at a time” (page 10). Upon reading this quote the reader can gain the knowledge that this solitary, anonymous, plain woman has another side to her. A side of seduction. In the beginning, one may receive a vibe that she is a shy and innocent “schoolteacher” due to her interactions at the ticket booth and in the restroom. Yet once she is in the presence of someone she adores, the woman turns to being pushy and seductive trying to bring Lovingood to her home, which makes the reader question this solitary woman’s true identity.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
