himself. He didn’t gave a chance to have a bidding with other corporations. Instead, he directly bought from Tiddley Corporation. First, he should analyze and check first which one offers much good features and which has a better price. He just directly but from Tiddley Corporation because he knows that his son works there. It just simply shows how unethical what J.R. did.
JOLINA’S OVERVIEW AND OPINION IN THE CASE STUDYFor me, what J.R. did is unethical because he didn’t think of what will be the effect of what he did in their company. He prefers to follow what he thinks has good benefits for his son so J.R. purchased Tiddley Corporation’s computers direct from Tiddley for about $3500 each which is wrong because he should follow the bidding policy of the university. As the Administrative Vice President, he should not make decision on his own, at least he should consult someone and being in higher position he should be a good role model on his subordinates.
KRISTA NICOLE’S OVERVIEW AND OPINION IN THE CASE STUDYFor me, being the administrative Vice President plays a major role in the company because he should be the role model of the employees. Based on the case study, what J.R do is partly unethical and ethical move. It was ethical because as a Vice President, he immediately saw the need of the computer in the company. But on the other hand unethical, because of his wants to immediately fulfill the need of the company, he grab the opportunity to bought the computer where his son works, without considering the bidding which provide effective and quality product. He is being biased on choosing where to buy computers. He did not considered the computer which is not that expensive but have a high quality instead he chose an expensive computers without considering the cheaper one just because the computers will be from the company where his son is working and will benefits his son. He prioritized his son before his job which gives him a bad impression as the administrative Vice President.
RUTH’S OVERVIEW AND OPINION IN THE CASE STUDYFor me , J.R did something wrong which is unethical because he uses his personal intention using his position in their company. Being a leader, he should set aside his personal agenda for the sake of the company. In the situation given, he consider his son’s company which offer high cost than the IBM clones. He should first consider the bidding policy when he decide which he will purchases the needed material.
MEDELYN’S OVERVIEW AND OPINION IN THE CASE STUDYAccording to Peter Drucker “Management is doing things right, Leadership is doing the right thing” All employees in a certain University even if they are at the lower or at the higher position must know how to obey their policy. In the case study provided, for me, it is not
