revealing land and more energy is absorbed, which leads to more ice melting and makes the world overall warmer. Negative feedback affects climate change in various ways too. One way is with clouds. When temperature increases, cloud cover increases, decreasing the amount of sunlight the earth receives and could slow down increased warming. This natural cycle could help with cooling our climate. Additionally, warming causes an increased amount of water in the atmosphere, which causes increased precipitation, causing an increase in water availability and plant growth, which helps reduce carbon emissions. 6. The Montreal Protocol, finalized in 1987, is a global agreement to protect the stratospheric ozone layer by phasing out the production and consumption of ODS, HCFCs, and halon. It is one of the most successful and effective environmental treaties ever implemented. It was successful because it provided stable framework that allowed industry to plan long-term research and innovation. The chemicals and sectors are clearly listed and articulated. The Multilateral Fund the protocol included helped fund developing countries make steps towards meeting targets for reducing these chemicals. I think the biggest challenge to using the same approach to other international environmental issues would be with reducing fossil fuels. Although a lot of countries want to reduce use and import of these, some countries that export fossil fuels rely on it for their economy. Some countries also rely on different fossil fuels than us.
