have pro bono meetings. [In my office,] there’s a party for the section that bills the most pro bono hours. We also have a pro bono week where lunch is provided each day and the attorneys are trained on how to take on different pro bono matter. I have taken on several projects.” • “Pro bono representation is placed under a spotlight here. We have an active group of attorneys who administer the program, and there are print and email newsletters, as well as luncheons and training sessions, designed to publicize pro bono matters and get attorneys involved. I believe that we have been at 100% participation for a number of consecutive years.” • “Pro bono work is deeply engrained in the firm culture. There are three full-time attorneys in the firm dedicated solely to pro bono work. The firm encourages every attorney, from the most junior associates like myself to the most senior partners, to engage in some pro bono work each year. Additionally, up to 50 hours of pro bono work counts toward the annual hours goals. I have had the chance to attend a few local clinics with the firm to provide free legal advice to underserved communities in the area, as well as to help represent an asylum client and participate in a comprehensive reform research project.”

625 Vault Guide to the Top 100 Law Firms, 2018 Edition HUNTON & WILLIAMS LLP “There’s a 5 PM happy hour every Friday on the balcony!” n n n “A partner for nearly 30 years, W. Taylor Reveley, III, served as Dean of the William and Mary Law School for ten years, and is now President of the College of William and Mary.” FUN FACTS HUNTON & WILLIAMS LLP • “We have a strong pro bono program coordinated through our pro-bono committee, which holds meetings once a month.” Diversity Efforts • “We have a fairly diverse demographic of lawyers and the firm has formal policies in place regarding diversity.” • “I am a diverse female and find that Hunton is better with diversity than other firms where I have worked. We have a lot of internal mentoring groups, and lawyers from other offices always reach out to me just to say hello. They welcomed me long before I even got situated when I first joined. The firm supports the various diverse bar associations I am in, without suggesting to me that I should develop business in that community.” • “Maternity leave is outstanding, as are the back-up child care options.” • “I think the firm seems to place an emphasis on diversity with respect to its publicized message and formal policies, but in practice, I don’t think they do a good enough job. I’m sure there are qualified racially diverse candidates, but I’m not sure what the firm is doing to attract and retain them at the summer associate and entry level and as laterals. The firm seems to do a bit better with respect to women.”

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
