How much does the poorest 20% have? - The richest 20% of the population take 74% of the world’s annual income and the poorest 20% take about 2%. 6. What is the relationship between child survival and income (GDP per capita)? - According to the graph presented by Hans Rosling, there is a linear relationship between income and child survival rate. The richer countries such as OECD (28,500) have higher child survival rates of 99.7% vs the mid cap countries (7000) at 97% vs the poorer countries (1750) whom only have about a 70% chance of child survival to the age of 5. 7. Why is it unreliable to use country-level data to make conclusions about health in any particular country? - It is unreliable to use country-level data to make any conclusions on the health status of that particular country because within the country lies many different regions that consist of different policies and access to technological innovations and different types of trade barriers and/or trade agreements do vary. For example, I was born in Vietnam and I visit there almost every year. From a live perspective as of 2018, my hometown of Vung Tau has actually become very developed and is filled with multibillion dollar investments in forms of hospitals, theme parks, technological advancements, and civil improvements. In addition to that, Danang is another popular tourist location where the new “God’s Hands” bridge has just been built.
