of this, all communication was done by email or through Facebook messenger. With any kind of online communication, there is always a chance that you miss a message, don’t get a notification, or forget to respond. Some group members also rely on the Internet for their cellphones and laptops to work rather than cellular data, so there was always a chance of them not receiving messages until many hours after the messages were sent in the group chat. Communication can be difficult in any type of team, but we found that it is harder when communication is done online. 4

Overall, our group found that schedule conflicts and a lack of communication were the two biggest problems that arose through working together. Even though these were serious issues to overcome, our group did manage to resolve these issues and complete the first part of the project on time. Resolving The Issues A productive team not only requires member involvement, but mutual understanding among each other as well. Fortunately, members in our group were easy going and patient, they are considerate and respect the fact that everyone has their personal time. Since HROB 2010 is a distance education course and we are taking it in the summer break, people have different time arrangements: they have jobs, families and other projects to work on and might not be able to spend as much of their time working on this assignment. When some members faced writing bottleneck, others are willing to give their suggestions, which benefits in time saving in the final assignment integration as well as prevents deviating from the main topic. From the aspect of evaluating the desired outcomes of teamwork, we think our group both achieved the standard of task accomplishment and team maintenance. To illustrate, we got 5

almost 80% on the first part of the assignment, and most of us are satisfied with this mark and are eager to achieve a higher one in the second part; meanwhile, each of us arranged time to effectively balance work and entertainment. Most importantly, each member in our group was responsible for completing their own part to finish the work on time on the base of everyone’s efforts and mutual supervision. A Leader Prevails While each member of the group was quite active in the completion of the project, one leader was especially prominent right from the beginning. This individual took it upon themselves to create a Facebook group chat, begin to discuss the goals and objectives of the project and prompt the group to divide up the workflow. This person helped the group to
