However, the execution of priests left a significant effect on the Filipinos including Dr. Jose Rizal. Noli Me Tangere The novel Noli Me Tangere was dedicated to the GOMBURZA. It was written in memory of the three priests. In the museum, the characters of the novel were displayed on the wall. The main characters, Maria Clara, Simoun, Sisa and others were presented and briefly described their role in the novel as the spotlight was drawn to them. Jose Rizal in prison In the middle of the walk through, there was a prison in the museum in which it depicted the cell of Dr. Rizal. There was a table and chair in his cell for him to continue writing his works. Additionally, it was before his execution which was later on presented as the walk through continues. Lapu-Lapu Lapu-Lapu was presented at the beginning of the walk through. He was a ruler of Mactan in Visayas. He is significant in the history of the Philippines because he was the first native to resists Spanish colonization. Lapu-Lapu’s beliefs and religion have affected the Filipinos in a certain manner. He is regarded retroactively as the first Filipino hero. It was also narrated in the first part regarding how Magellan arrived the homeland of Philippines. Manunggul jar Manunngul jar is a traditional burial jar originated from Palawan. There are two prominent figures at the top handle of its cover represent the journey of the soul to the afterlife. It is one of the national treasures of the Philippines. Nowadays, the retrieved manunggul jars are preserved and displayed at the exhibits of national museum.
