In 2014, which of the following states had the most earthquakes? A. California B. Maine C. Oregon D. Oklahoma The largest quake had a magnitude (Mw) of 5.7, and earthquakes over a magnitude 5 can cause  structural damage. This is interesting because these earthquakes have been directly tied to human activity-they are examples of induced seismicity (we can make quakes!). In other Earth news, it has been HOT this summer. In Montana, a drought is leading to increased incidences of wildfires (as of a few days ago,  ~10% of the state was classified as being in “exceptional drought”, defined as “Exceptional and  widespread crop/pasture losses; shortages of water in reservoirs, streams, and wells creating  water emergencies” by the US Drought Monitor (see here:  ). Consequences of the drought are varied. We see increased incidences of wildfires (for wildfire  data, see here:  1

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

I cannot even describe how much Course Hero helped me this summer. It’s truly become something I can always rely on and help me. In the end, I was not only able to survive summer classes, but I was able to thrive thanks to Course Hero.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
