stations or light rail stations, however, there were railroad tracks above the city. I was unable to find a bus schedule.Jo’s Grocery is the only grocery store in Sentinel City. There were multiple department stores, and there was a “Shop It” at the only gas station. There was also a farmer’s market in Acer Tech next to the hospital. People use the buses, walk, bike ride or drive to those places. Traveling through the day, I saw the sick and elderly around the hospital. Police officers were monitoring the streets. Kids were playing on the playground at the school and crossing the street. I saw various people walking their dogs in different neighborhoods. I did not expect to seea nun serve the food at the soup kitchen that was located outside of the church. I did not see any sales persons or any postal workers either. The way people dress in different areas of the city, for the most part, looked like normal clothing to me. The people at the soup kitchen seemed to have more raggedy clothing. As far as animals, I saw stray dogs, rats, dogs on leashes, and birds in thesky. The community seemed alive to me because of the activity and people that I saw outside. There was a lot of graffiti around the city, usually where the trash and abandoned cars were. There was a protest outside of City Hall. I saw a farmer’s market, but not any other vendors. The population consists primarily of Caucasian, African American, and Hispanic/Italian. Caucasians, I saw mostly at Nightingale and the school. Mixed races were generally everywhere else. I did see a few Italian and Mexican restaurants. There was a sushi restaurant as well. The only church that I saw was the Interfaith Church and there was only one school. I was unable to find out what religion the residents practiced.
TASK 1 8I noticed a hand full of people walking on crutches or using canes. There were some billboards that advertised quitting smoking and drug addiction. 24% of the population smokes tobacco and 26% drinks alcohol. The hospital is in Acer Tech and the health clinic is in IndustrialHeights. The only evidence of politics that I witnessed was the protest at City Hall. I did not see any televisions or satellite dishes outside. I saw newspaper stands at each bus stop. The several department stores in the city probably sell junk food and I’m sure alcohol as well. The billboards indicate quitting smoking, drug addiction, and the importance of receiving a flu shot. I did not see any cell phone tower.(B1) Data AnalysisInterpretation of Data AnalysisMy collected epidemiological data revealed that for Sentinel City factors that may contribute to disease processes consist of health problems related to STD’s. The percentages of STD’s for the residents of Sentinel City are quite high. The percentages may be due to lack of education. The city only has one school, mentioned in the windshield survey. The health clinic is also located in a rough part of town, which may be a reason why residents might not go there for sexual health and education. If the school promotes education to their students on STD’s, then there might be a lower percentage in the ages 15-24 rates. If the health clinic either moved to a
