2.How important is the “tone at the top” (the tone set by company leadership? Why?3.Do you think you could be tempted to follow along if the leadership at your company had the same mentality as the leadership at Enron, or do you think you would have the courage to “just say no” or even be a whistle-blower”?I will have the courage to say no because each employee of the company is required by the international codes of ethics to be objective, shun away from conflict of interest and adhere to the corporate governance. Given the scenario that the company’s leadership was not following the corporate governance, I would simply say no to their respective leadership. 4.Why do you think some people can so easily justify (at least to themselves) their unethical behavior?5.In general, do you think people stop to think about how their Name & ZID#
actions will affect other people, (e.g., the elderly in California who suffered due to electricity blackouts) or do they just “do their job”?I think people stop to think about how their respective actions affect other individuals. This is engineered by having self interests in certain financial matters and failure to observe ethical codes of conduct. For instance Enron top managers chosestakeholder deception and short-term financial gains for themselves which destroyed their personal and consequent business reputations and social standing. In general, they risked civil and criminal prosecution that could lead to imprisonment.
