Culminating or Closing Procedure/Activity/Event: For a closing activity students will take care of their materials and discuss their progress. They will graph their words per minute for the future. Instructional Strategy (or Strategies): Students will be broke into small groups and working on these various parts of fluency. They will be partnered in groups of two. These will remain their fluency partners while they work on increasing their skills. Differentiated Instruction Accommodations: Different levels of reading passages will be used based upon students reading level. Use of Technology:

Students will be using timers to time each other on one minute fluency passages. I will be putting up a large timer on my projector which will also keep track of the time. Student Assessment/Rubrics: Formative assessments such as daily reading to self or someone occur each day. Students will be progress monitored on their reading weekly and some biweekly. At the conclusion of the unit, students will have a summative assessment or a final DIBELS words per minute test that shows progression of fluency.
