electrical activity. Stage 3 - Non - REM sleep this stage is where your body goes into more of a deep sleep that you need to feel refreshed in the morning. It usually occurs in the longer periods of the night, around during the first half of the night. Your muscles and your overall body are really relaxed. This is when it's hard to awake you. REM Sleep - This first occurs about 90 minutes into your sleep and it's kinda similar to the first stage of sleep. Your eyes move rapidly from side to side behind closed eyelids. Mixed frequency brain wave activity becomes closer to that seen in wakefulness, your breathing becomes faster and irregular. Your heart rate and blood pressure become increased to near waking levels. Your arm and leg muscles become temporarily paralized, which prevents you from acting out your dreams because during this time is usually when people dream the most. As you age and get older you sleep less in REM Sleep. Hopefully all types of sleep I explained thoroughly and what each stage does helps you understand your sleeping habits better and have an understanding of why your body does certain things, MY TIPS - sleep with no light no tv on. Go to bed on a regular schedule to reduce abnormal sleeping patterns. When you go to bed early you wake up at your bestest !!!!

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
