Analysis The second stage is the analysis stage. In this stage, various goals would be set needing to be achieved. Some of the goals would be general goals for the system, goals for the top management team, and the goals for the operating management systems ( Bagranoff, Simkin, & Norman, 2010, Chapter 13). In this stage, the team would perform an analysis of its planning work, and study the results. This stage can take months providing various reports to the steering committee as to the progress of the project. The final report would be the final systems analysis report which if approved by the steering committee the team would move on to the next stage. Design

THE SYSTEM DEVELOPMENT LIFE CYCLE 3 The third stage is the design stage. Once the steering committee has approved the achievability of the project the design team can then go to work on the complete designing of the system. The team would identify the inputs, processing procedures, as well as the outputs for the new system. A detailed design would be produced, similar to a blueprint for a home, to be used for the completed system. When the steering committee has approved the design work it is then time to make the final decision for this stage which is the “make or buy decision” committee ( Bagranoff, Simkin, & Norman, 2010, Chapter 13). This is true for a large company as well as a smaller company. If the company has a sufficient internal IT staff to develop the project in house, or for a smaller company, should this project be outsourced to an outside contractor?

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
