Emotio nal focused therapy that focuses on two major tasks 1) help clients with to much emotion contain and have control over those and 2) help clients with two little to be able to show emotion appropr atly. Theory of Change Positive reenforcemtn encourages the client to change along with showing empathy when necessary. The counselor has to be real and open with the client or this technique will not work for the client because they will see that the counselor is not genuine.
