Moreover, any past unpaid balances are sent to collection companies creating poor credit histories and possible bankruptcy. Even though the PPACA provided the gateway to universal healthcare, many Americans are still uninsured due to the inability to affordthe plan and will be penalized for not purchasing Marketplace healthcare plans and do not qualify for government assistance ("Individual Mandate Penalty You Pay If You Don't Have Health Insurance Coverage").Due to Great Britain’s national healthcare system, British are exempt from the heavy burden of medical financial implications due to social insurance system. The citizens pay higher income taxes rate than Americans, at least 9 percent of citizens gross income in 2008 allowing minimal or next to zero dollars contributed to healthcare (Davis, "Copay vs.
