o Androse’s enemies arrest him on a count of being disloyal to the town o The new king and queen, give charters back to all of these individual colonies 40. In 1753, royal governor of Virginia, Robert Dinwiddie (member of Ohio company) sends a company out to warn the French that they are trespassing on VA’s land He sends a messenger, George Washington o When he returns from his mission, Dinwiddie is impressed with him; he has him lead an expedition from VA westward to be in the area that frontier if they need to protect VA’s land 41. General Edward Braddock : English commander o Head out near Pennsylvania (ft.ducane in north) o heads west and north out of NY o made friends with many Indians o he and his troops were defeated and ambushed by 250 French and 640 Indians o the British were very organized and orderly o about 1000 soldiers on British side; these soldiers were killed or wounded o the losses on French and Indian side were negligible( b/c they were hiding behind rocks and trees) o Washington is also on this adventure; he shows a lot of bravery and he gets a promotion 43. Pontiac rebellion - after 3 years of signing treaty of Paris o A chief of the Ottawa tribe o He wil gather many people in the Ohio valley and they will attack Detroit o They will expand with 6 more attacks at nearby forts followed by 12 other tribes o They had taken control of every fort west of Detroit
