It is the collective well-being of the community of people and institutions that the profession serves. The third principle is the integrity principle, saying that members should perform responsibilities with the highest level of integrity, and maintain trust from the public. Members should be honest and uphold client confidentiality. The fourth principle is the objectivity and independence principle, which states members should be free of conflicts and independent when providing services like auditing. To maintain this principle, there needs to be a continuing assessment of client relationships and public responsibilities. The fifth principle is the due care principle, stating that the members should strive for the quest for excellence, and that they should discharge professional responsibilities with competence and diligence. Due care requires a member to plan and supervise adequately any professional activity for which he or she is responsible. The sixth and last principle is the scope and nature of services principle. It states
