Reply 1 Hey, You have written an excellent post on the correlation between corruption and economic development of a nation. You have provided a precise definition of corruption and explored negative effects of corruption on the economic development of a country. From your discussion above, it is evident that you exhibit your consciousness of corruption and its consequences on financial advancement. It is without a doubt that corruption has considerable negative impacts on a country’s economic development. It slows the rate of economic development of a county because it leads to reduced foreign investments, reduced tax revenues, below standards in public infrastructure, among others ( Mbaku, 2019) . Beside what you have discussed, corruption also leads to reduced commitments from donor agencies to the less developed counties. This is because corruption leads to significant diversion of funds from their intended projects towards self interest activities. In less developed counties, there is a significant inflow of funds from donor organizations like USAID, UNESCO and UNICEF.
