The avian flu is a concern because its a lethal disease that is transmitted from birds to humans and has not yet found a way to transmit from human to human but is at risk to mutate and get to that point. 2. How does the virus get into a cell? What happens once the virus gets in? The virus gets into the cell by the gene hemagglutinin which allows it to penetrate itself inside. The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
