3. ACTIVE PARTICIPATION (Program Learning Objectives: K1):I expect active participation from each of you. Participation in class discussions will help you learn and willhelp me to know that you are learning. Participation grades is based on the appropriate quantity andquality of your verbal and activity-based participation in classes.4. COURSE EXPECTATIONS:We will work together to promote the core values of our profession: respect for human diversity and theequality of rights for all persons. I am committed to promote open and honest discussions of differingviews and respect various perspectives regarding the subject matter. Participation in class discussions androleplays/exercises are expected to contribute to your learning of the material, which is not limited to thetextbooks.Reading assignments are to be completed before that evening's class meeting, and your text(s) for thatweek's readings should be brought to each class. You should be prepared to discuss and/or ask questionsregarding these readings in class. In other words, students will be called upon during class to participate inclass discussions or to respond to questions related to the readings.

Each participant will receive their gradebased on the work done during roleplays.4.Quizzes (K1)We will have multiple quizzes during the semester. These quizzes are designed tohelp you to memorize the material presented in the class.
