“I called Office Depot as the chair my husband and I have has been recalled due to a faulty plate. After sitting on hold for about 15 minutes I finally got to speak to someone. When I told them why I was calling I was then transferred to another department. Again I had to wait on hold. Now I get this person and I tell him why I am calling. He proceeds to tell me they will replace the plate. I tell him I want a brand new chair. He then hangs up on me so I have to call back. I now get someone else and repeat my story. Do they say I am sorry? NO. They want to send us 2 new plates. I want 2 new chairs. THEY ARE PUTTING OUR LIVES AT RISK BY SELLING US A FAULTY PRODUCT. They refuse to own up to the problem. I will never buy office furniture from Office depot again.” 5. Can’t verify the customer for 24 hours. “The computer at my store went down around 4pm. Needed to have the manager run and grab one immediately. Ordered online with In Store pickup and the manager listed as the recipient. When he arrived they said it was on hold until tomorrow. I called customer service and they said I must have put in the credit card number wrong. When I offered to forward the automatic email alerts I get when my card was charged and I read off their store number they said that they needed to verify me before releasing the order. I said that was fine, "ask me whatever you need to." They said "No, we can't verify you for 24 hours". HUUUHHH?!?!?! Never heard of such craziness. Cancelled my order and place an in store pickup with Best Buy. Had the computer in an hour...just that easy. OFFICE DEPOT IS HORRIB.” Few strategies applied by office depot: 1. Then when he finally got hold of someone he had an inadequate lady who did not handle these kinds of situations, therefore he got a different toll-free number, had to wait again and then just when he was about to give up the right person answered ‘hello, thank you for calling office depot, how may I help you?’ He told the lady about the lazy deliveryman who could not drive up the steep hill with his truck, who did not get out of the truck when Dana came down to collect the by Steve purchased items.
