opinions on homosexuality that the two characters posses. Kirsha is after pleasure, while Mrs.Kirsha seeks to defend her honor. Mahfouz is able to depict the conflicting opinions of not just individuals, but society as well. Mrs. Kirsha attempts to talk to Kirsha in a civil manner but is rudely brushed off. She then turns to Radwan Hussainy, begging him to help her. to “leave him to find his own path.” Mahfouz again shows different perspectives, this time a more religious side, rather than societal. Mahfouz in Midag alley is able to show multiple perspectives of a single topic by using the character’s points of view as little windows into the content of the story.
