ASSESSMENT TASK 3 - PROJECT / DEMONSTRATION Conditions of Assessment You are to work individually Assessment tasks must be typed (not hand written) You will work with other students as directed by your trainer and assessor Student Instructions for completion Task 3 - Project / Demonstration Read this project assessment task, complete all the requirements and submit to the trainer/assessor by the due date Skill demonstration will be 8-10 minutes Use of correct grammar and spelling is required to demonstrate foundational skills Use of APA referencing must be used where original sources other than your own have been used – to avoid plagiarism Write your name, student ID, the assessment task and the name of the unit of competency on each piece of paper you submit for assessment Due Date The due date for this task is 1. You are to perform and then document a simulated risk assessment of using a mechanical hoist to move a patient out of bed and into a wheelchair, include identifying how risk minimisation strategies would be implemented and evaluated. For this you should: Implement the strategies determined Monitor the strategies Evaluate how these are working, after a suitable period of time (determined by the assessor/trainer). Answers to both assessments should show a thorough understanding of the requirements for this unit.

ASSESSMENT TASK 4 - OBSERVATION IN THE WORKPLACE Student Instructions for completion Task 4 - Work Placement You are required to undertake industry work placement 160 hours You must have been graded successful in your skills assessment prior to commencing work placement You must have been graded successful in your assessments for all units of competency prior to commencing work placement The SCEI work placement coordinator will arrange your work placement to ensure it is undertaken in a SCEI approved centre Due Date The work placement booklet must be submitted to the trainer/assessor within five days of completion of the work placement Throughout this unit, the student will be expected to show their competency of the elements through observations or demonstrations. The observations and demonstrations will be completed as well as the formative and summative assessments found in the Learner Workbook. An explanation of demonstrations and observations: Please refer to the work placement book for assessment to be completed while on placement.
