It will help identify the areas that could help improve quality of life for him. The Functional Assessment Tool helps view functional performance and can be used as a measure of overall impact of health conditions in his environment and support system. It assesses at three different levels of functioning: basic activities of living, instrumental activities of daily living, and advanced activities of living. This helps identify daily tasks that can be performed on his own (Muszalik, Kornatowski, Zielinska-Wieczkowska, Kedziora-Kornatowska, & Dijkstra, 2015). Targeted Questions To effectively facilitate a productive examination, it is crucial to ask targeted questions toward the patient and their needs. These questions will allow the patient to open up and provide the most needed information. Five targeted questions toward this patient would possibly include: 1. Tell me what is bothering you the most?
