demarcated area that is associated with a cough (Dains et al., 2016). The sputum experienced in pneumonia can be rust-colored (Dains et al., 2016) and could be erroneously described by the client as blood-tinged. The sudden onset and lack of fever in this non-immunocompromised client, makes this diagnosis less likely.6.Intercostal nerve painIntercostal nerve pain from a herpes zoster infection can cause a stabbing chest pain that may be exacerbated with deep breathing, although the pain would be limited to the dermatome on one side (Dains et al., 2016). This client does not currently have any lesions on the thorax, but Dains et al. noted pain generally occurs before the typical rash. 7.Panic disorderWith a sudden onset and dyspnea that is not relieved with rest, panic disorder should be included as a differential diagnosis. Dains et al. (2016) noted asking the client about any similar episodes in the past 6 months can help rule out this differential, but also noted the symptoms of a panic attack may be present without current or past reports of stress.P.This section is not required for the assignments in this course (NURS 6512) but will be required for futurecourses.ReferencesAlhassan, S., Sayf, A.
